The pursuit of Boniface has come as a surprise, with Milan previously linked to Rasmus Højlund and Dusan Vlahovic.
However, behind the scenes, the Rossoneri moved swiftly to secure the Nigerian international, whom they see as the perfect addition to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.
Sky Italia reports that Milan expect the transfer to be concluded soon, while German journalist Florian Plettenberg disclosed that Leverkusen are “leaning towards yes,” influenced partly by Boniface’s desire to experience Serie A football.
Boniface scored 11 goals in the Bundesliga last season under coach Xabi Alonso, playing a pivotal role in Leverkusen’s campaign despite their failure to retain the league title
. Milan believe his pace, strength, and eye for goal will provide the firepower needed for a renewed push in domestic and European competitions.

If finalised, the move would represent a significant shift in Milan’s transfer strategy, with Boniface poised to wear the iconic red and black of San Siro.
