EKO HOT BLOG reports that the development was announced on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, attended by ADC Interim National Chairman, Senator David Mark, and former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, alongside members of the party’s Kogi State chapter.
Leading the legal delegation, Barrister Mohammed Sheriff accused the APC of filing a case against the ADC using names of individuals who are neither members of the party nor affiliated with its Kogi and Nasarawa State structures.
“It smacks of desperation that a party entrusted with leading 200 million Nigerians would engage in such dishonesty,” ADC said in a statement released after the meeting.
Senator Mark, addressing attendees, reaffirmed his commitment to neutrality and democratic principles, vowing not to favour any presidential aspirant. “This party belongs to every Nigerian who believes in true democracy,” he stated.
He urged members to close ranks, warning that political apathy could threaten Nigeria’s democratic future. “Our democracy will fail if Nigerians continue to sit on the sidelines,” he added.
In a subtle jab at the APC, Mark criticised the ruling party’s failure to address insecurity, despite campaign promises. “If they admitted insecurity was bad and made it worse, why continue supporting them?” he queried.
The ADC claimed its internal investigation showed that those listed in the suit are not found in the party’s physical or digital registers, accusing the APC of using false identities to cause internal division.

The party’s legal team has pledged readiness to counter the suit and defend its interim officials in court.
