The Federal Government has stated that President Bola Tinubu will remain focused and will not be swayed by the emergence of political coalitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement released on Tuesday, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, emphasized that while Nigerians have the constitutional right to freedom of association and expression, the Tinubu administration is committed to implementing reforms and driving economic development.

“President Tinubu’s administration will not be sidetracked by politicking or political distractions,” Idris stated.
He stressed that the government remains fully dedicated to its Renewed Hope agenda, which, according to him, is already yielding visible results just two years into President Tinubu’s administration.
“Crude oil theft has significantly reduced, and investor confidence in the oil and gas sector is rebounding. Inflation is easing, the naira is stabilising, and security challenges are being addressed with renewed vigour,” he said.
According to him, millions of Nigerians—including households, students, artisans, and small business owners—are already benefiting from a range of government initiatives.
These include access to student loans, consumer credit, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle conversions, and improvements in infrastructure and public services.

He also noted that just two weeks ago, President Tinubu signed four major tax reform bills into law. Describing them as among the most ambitious fiscal reforms in Nigeria’s history, Idris said the new policies will take effect in 2026 and are expected to boost prosperity for both households and businesses.
The minister highlighted the launch of the Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanisation Programme, which he described as the largest initiative of its kind ever introduced in the country.
He said the programme is a key part of the administration’s strategy to achieve nationwide food security.
While acknowledging the growing attention on new opposition coalitions, Idris said such political movements are not unusual. However, he accused the opposition of attempting to distract the government from its ongoing efforts to advance national development.
“The Tinubu administration remains undeterred, focused, and committed to building a more prosperous Nigeria for all,” Idris said.
