It surpassed the 81-point game recorded by Kobe Bryant in 2006 and now trails only the legendary 100 points scored by Wilt Chamberlain in 1962.

Adebayo showed early signs that he was in unstoppable form during a blistering opening quarter, where he scored 31 points while shooting efficiently from the field. By halftime, he had already accumulated 43 points, setting the stage for a potentially record-breaking night.
The momentum continued after the break as he added 19 points in the third quarter, pushing his total to 62 and drawing closer to Bryant’s iconic mark.
Late in the fourth quarter, the Heat star officially moved past Bryant’s tally. A pair of free throws first tied the record before two more shots from the line lifted him to 83 points with just over a minute remaining in the game.
Moments later, Adebayo was substituted to thunderous applause from fans at Kaseya Center in Miami, who stood to celebrate the historic achievement.
Reflecting on the night afterward, Adebayo said the performance was unforgettable and credited his teammates and coaching staff for helping make it possible.
He also acknowledged how meaningful it was to surpass the scoring mark set by Bryant, a player he admired growing up.

“It’s surreal to think about being mentioned alongside Wilt and Kobe,” Adebayo said, adding that he often wondered what Bryant would have said about the achievement.
Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra described the night as extraordinary and said everyone in the arena realized they were witnessing something special.
Spoelstra explained that the team initially tried to stick to its normal approach despite Adebayo’s explosive start. But as the points kept piling up, the strategy gradually shifted to helping him chase history.
According to the coach, once Adebayo crossed the 50-point mark, the team began encouraging him to continue pushing his total even higher.
Although the 28-year-old is widely known for his defensive versatility rather than elite scoring, Spoelstra said the performance reflected the dedication and hard work Adebayo has invested in improving his offensive game.
He added that the achievement placed Adebayo among the greatest individual performances the league has ever seen.
