Officials of Lagos State University have paid a congratulatory visit to the Alara of Ilara following his appointment as the institution’s sixth Chancellor by the Lagos State Government.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the visit came shortly after a prior meeting with the university’s management, underscoring the institution’s backing and goodwill toward the monarch in his new position.

Leading the delegation was the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Babatunde Ogala, alongside the Vice-Chancellor, Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and other members of the governing council and principal officers.
Speaking during the visit, Ogala congratulated the monarch, describing his emergence as Chancellor as well-deserved and a recognition of his leadership capacity and influence.

He expressed confidence that the royal father would provide guidance that would further strengthen the university’s growth. He added that the council also used the opportunity to share its development plans for the institution.
In her remarks, Olatunji-Bello commended the monarch for his commitment to education, noting that LASU has continued to maintain a stable academic calendar and remains one of the leading universities in West Africa.
Responding, the Alara expressed appreciation to the state government for the honour, describing the appointment as a proud moment for the Ilara Kingdom and traditional institutions in Lagos State. He assured the council of his readiness to contribute to the university’s progress.

The monarch also acknowledged the institution’s strides in digital innovation and international collaborations, praising the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor. He pledged to support initiatives that would enhance the university’s development, including attention to satellite campuses such as the one in Epe.
The visit highlights growing collaboration between the university and traditional leadership, with stakeholders optimistic about further advancement under the monarch’s tenure as Chancellor.
