EKO HOT BLOG reports that he said there is no plan for the party to weaken its structure or step aside to allow another political party gain advantage in the forthcoming elections.
The governor was reacting to speculations that the Labour Party might deliberately avoid presenting strong candidates, particularly for the presidential race, as part of an alleged arrangement to support the ruling party. He described the claims as baseless and not worth serious consideration.
Otti stressed that both parties remain independent and must operate as such to sustain democratic principles, adding that it would be illogical for a party to abandon its structure after years of development.
“APC will remain a political party, and the Labour Party will remain so too. How will the Labour Party collapse its structure after having its own structure?
“If that is your prayer for us, that the Labour Party will collapse its structure, that will not happen,” he said.
On the internal disagreements within the party, Otti said efforts are ongoing to reunite members, including those who previously aligned with a rival leadership faction.

He noted that several state chairmen have already returned and are now working with the current leadership, describing the development as a sign that unity is gradually being restored within the party.
