Man Strangles Father Ondo
Tragically, one of the detained individuals allegedly died from police torture, while the other was hospitalised. Enraged by the incident, youths in the area staged a protest at the police station, forcefully dispersing the officers before torching the facility.
The unrest continued into Sunday morning, prompting Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, to visit the town for an on-the-spot assessment.
According to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, preliminary investigations revealed that the crisis began on 15 February 2025, when a dispute between two families on Ogbomo Street, Ifon, escalated into a public altercation.

The statement added that officers from the Ifon Division, led by an inspector, intervened swiftly, making arrests while some suspects managed to escape.
