- APC Adds Account Details To 2027 Election Timetable Amid Hijack Allegations
- Governors accused of planning bulk purchase of nomination forms for loyal aspirants.
- Party insists forms remain open to all eligible members despite allegations.
There were indications that the All Progressives Congress adjusted its timetable for the 2027 general elections to include official account details after alleged attempts by some governors to influence the sale of nomination forms.
Party sources said the revised schedule followed concerns that governors under the Progressive Governors’ Forum planned to purchase expression of interest and nomination forms in bulk ahead of the primaries.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to the sources, pressure from the governors led to the omission of the party’s account details in the initial timetable released earlier.
The governors were alleged to have planned bulk purchases for state-level elections, with the intention of distributing the forms to preferred aspirants, particularly those seeking seats in the National Assembly.
The development reportedly prompted the APC to include its account numbers in the revised timetable released on Monday, a move seen as an effort to ensure transparency in the process.
The adjustment came amid reports that President Bola Tinubu had given governors significant influence in determining candidates for the 2027 elections.
In the updated schedule, the APC fixed its presidential primary for May 23, 2026, while governorship and state House of Assembly primaries were scheduled for May 20. Senate primaries will hold on May 18, while the House of Representatives primaries are set for May 15.
When contacted, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, did not directly address the allegation.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku, he assured aspirants that the party would conduct transparent and credible primaries.
Nwachuku said Uzodimma remained committed to democratic principles and would support a fair process, urging aspirants to remain loyal and disciplined regardless of the outcome.
The APC National Working Committee did not respond to enquiries on the allegations.
Similarly, the party’s National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, and National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, did not comment.
However, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, dismissed claims that nomination forms would be restricted.

He said, “There was also a rumour that forms would be restricted or limited to certain individuals. I am here to inform all party faithful and aspirants that nomination forms for all aspirants seeking offices under the All Progressives Congress are open.
“Nomination forms are open to all members of the All Progressives Congress contesting elections.”
