Obi characterized the administration’s governance agenda as a failure and advocated for a new economic model to solve pressing national challenges.
Responding in a statement issued on Monday, the APC National Vice Chairman (South-East), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, countered that abandoning current economic policies would reset progress and jeopardize long-term stability.
He stressed that key decisions, including fuel subsidy removal, foreign exchange market unification, and fiscal restructuring, were necessary steps to repair structural flaws in the economy.
Dr. Arodiogbu faulted Obi’s approach, accusing the opposition leader of routinely highlighting economic hardships without presenting practical, realistic alternatives.
He argued that reversing established reforms at a delicate phase would erode investor confidence, disrupt infrastructure development, and derail long-term job creation efforts across the country, including the South-East region.
The ruling party maintained that policy consistency remains essential for driving national productivity and international credibility.
