EKO HOT BLOG reports that Justice Muhammad Umar, who delivered the ruling on Tuesday, admitted each of the defendants to bail in the sum of ₦100 million. The court ordered that each defendant must provide two sureties, who must be a permanent secretary and a director within the civil service.
As part of the bail conditions, Justice Umar directed the defendants to deposit their international passports with the court registry. The court also ordered Adamu and his co defendants to report weekly to the Department of State Services office in Bauchi State every Monday until the case is determined.
In his ruling, the judge held that the defendants had placed sufficient materials before the court to justify the exercise of judicial discretion in their favour.
“The defendants have placed enough materials before this court for the court to exercise its discretion judicially and judiciously,” Justice Umar said.
The Bauchi finance commissioner and his co defendants are facing charges bordering on alleged terrorism financing involving the sum of $9.7 million. They have, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against them.

Justice Umar subsequently adjourned the matter to February 26 for the commencement of trial.
