EKO HOT BLOG reports that Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen praised the 28-year-old as one of the most outstanding left wingers in the Premier League. “He brings real player character from Liverpool to FC Bayern — he’s won silverware with every one of his clubs to date,” Dreesen stated.
Diaz, who won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup during his time at Liverpool, expressed his excitement about the move. “It means a lot to me to be part of FC Bayern. They’re one of the biggest clubs in the world,” Diaz said. “I want to help my new team with my way of playing football and my character. My goal is to win every possible title, and that’s what we’ll work for every day as a team.”
Diaz was instrumental in Liverpool’s successful 2024/25 campaign under new manager Arne Slot, scoring 17 goals in 50 appearances as the Reds clinched their 20th English league title.
His absence from Liverpool’s 4-2 pre-season defeat to AC Milan in Hong Kong last weekend had intensified speculation about a possible transfer, which has now been confirmed.
The signing is seen as Bayern’s swift response to the injury setback suffered by Jamal Musiala, who is expected to be sidelined for an extended period after sustaining a broken leg and dislocated ankle during the Club World Cup.

Diaz’s arrival is expected to boost Bayern’s attacking line with added pace, creativity, and depth ahead of the new Bundesliga season and UEFA Champions League campaign.
