Bove’s appointment has been faced with significant opposition from former lawmakers and judges.
A number of charges has been raised against Bove as he is being accused of political interference as well as other counts of ethical misconduct.
These charges were made by whistle-blowers who felt unsatisfied with his nomination.
According to one of the whistle-blowers, members of the Senate Judiciary who played a key role in Bove’s appointment were notified of an audio recording taken during a meeting Bove had earlier this year with prosecutors during which he pressured them to comply with orders and dismiss the federal corruption case against New York’s Mayor, Eric Adams, sources told CNN.
The Democrats on the committee have investigated whether the whistle-blowers admission disputed Bove’s testimony before the Senate of his denial of intimidating the prosecutors who refused to drop Adams case in accordance with the administration’s agenda.
Whilst the sources have described the existence and contents of the alleged audio recording, CNN has been unable to verify the recording.
Two other whistle-blowers also came forward with the allegations of Bove’s technique of handling Trump’s immigration propaganda where those in custody often get denied of formal protocol.

The chairman of the Senate’s Judiciary, Chuck Grassley on Tuesday said that his office has investigated the whistle-blowers accusations while conducting other interviews and found no malpractice against Bove.
” This timeline raises serious concerns, and it’s legitimate to raise them as a major problem, Grassley spoke from the Senate’s floor hours before the full chamber voted on Bove’s nomination.
“If my Democratic colleagues wanted to investigate the allegations, they should have come to this senator and we could have vetted the allegations in good” faith together.”
Other members of the Republic also opposed the nomination, Senator Susan Collins of Maine in her statement said she couldn’t trust him to act as an “impartial jurist” . Another senator, GOP Lisa Murkowski also opposed the nomination as the pair voted against his appointment together with the Democrats.
In spite of the allegations, the Senate approved his nomination 50-49 on the 20th July, 2025.
A justice department spokesman described that Bove will make an “excellent judge”.
” Emily Bove is a highly qualified judicial nominee who has done incredible work at the Department of Justice to help protect civil rights, dismantle Foreign Terrorist Organizations, and make America Safe Again”, Spokesperson Gates McGavick told CNN.
” He will make an excellent judge- the Department’s loss will be the Third Circuit’s gain.
