The beneficiary schools include Epe Junior Grammar School, Epe; Lagos State Junior Model College, Igbonla-Epe; Lagos State Junior Model College, Badore-Ajah;
Lagos State Senior Model College, Agbowa-Epe; and Government Senior College, Ketu-Epe—all of which operate boarding facilities accommodating hundreds of students.
The intervention is particularly significant for boarding schools where students reside full-time and depend heavily on a consistent and safe water supply for drinking, cooking, sanitation, and other daily needs.
Prior to this intervention, some of the schools faced challenges related to water access, making the project a timely and impactful solution.
Speaking during the commissioning, Osinaike emphasized the importance of providing essential facilities that directly affect students’ health and academic performance.
“Access to clean and safe water is fundamental to the wellbeing of our students, especially in boarding schools where they live and learn daily.
This initiative is part of my modest contribution to ensuring a healthier and more conducive environment for learning,” he said.
He added that the project aligns with his long-standing commitment to improving educational standards through both administrative leadership and tangible interventions.
Education stakeholders, school principals, and staff who witnessed the commissioning expressed deep appreciation, noting that the borehole systems would significantly improve hygiene, reduce water-related stress, and enhance overall school operations.
“This intervention is timely and impactful. It will not only improve sanitation but also support the daily needs of our students who live on campus.
We are sincerely grateful for this thoughtful gesture,” a school administrator remarked.
The event attracted key stakeholders in the education sector, community leaders, and well-wishers who commended Osinaike for his foresight and dedication to sustainable development within schools.
Observers described the initiative as a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership and a commitment to leaving behind a lasting legacy that directly impacts students’ lives beyond the classroom.
The borehole projects are part of a broader set of activities lined up to celebrate Osinaike’s retirement, underscoring his contributions to educational development, mentorship, and public service in Lagos State.
As he prepares to exit active service, many stakeholders have continued to praise his tenure, describing it as one marked by discipline, innovation, and people-centered leadership.
