Eko Hot Blog reports that in a significant development for the adult education sector in Lagos State, the Ministry of Tertiary Education has announced a substantial increase in stipends for facilitators and instructors working with the Lagos State Agency for Mass Education.
During a press briefing held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Hon. Tolani Sule, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, unveiled the details of the increment, which will see facilitators receiving a 65% raise and instructors benefiting from a 50% increase in their stipends.

Expressing gratitude to the state governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Hon. Sule commended his unwavering support for the Agency for Mass Education and the Ministry of Tertiary Education as a whole. “The Commissioner praised the Governor Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his support to the Agency for Mass Education in particular, and the Ministry of Tertiary Education in general,” the source stated.
The move is expected to bolster the state’s efforts in providing quality adult education programs and services, ensuring that Facilitators and Instructors are adequately compensated for their crucial roles in imparting knowledge and skills to learners.
Present at the press briefing were Mr. Adeniran Kasali, the Permanent Secretary, and Mrs. Oluwakemi Kalesanwo, the Director of the Lagos State Agency for Mass Education, further underscoring the significance of this decision for the agency and the broader adult education sector.
