Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses made history on Sunday, defeating Malawi 3–0 in Rabat to secure their first-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Marie Ngah Manga opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Naomi Eto doubled Cameroon’s lead with a superb volley 10 minutes later. Ngah Manga added her second goal in first-half stoppage time to seal a dominant victory.

The result marked a remarkable turnaround for Cameroon, who missed the 2024 tournament and initially failed to qualify for the 2026 edition.

For Malawi, it was a historic campaign as the Scorchers reached the final for the first time, but they struggled to break through Cameroon’s defence.
Cameroon’s triumph also earned them a place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup alongside Malawi, Algeria and Morocco.
