The Independent National Electoral Commission has described the early conduct of the Osun State governorship election as peaceful and orderly, with the vast majority of polling units opening on schedule.
In an update issued on Saturday through its official X account, Eko Hot Blog gathered INEC said 3,556 of the 3,763 polling units across the state had commenced operations by 8:30 a.m.

The figure represents 94.5 per cent of the total polling units in Osun State.
The commission explained that the remaining 207 polling units, representing 5.5 per cent, experienced slight delays but were fully operational by 9 a.m.
INEC also disclosed that the activation of Registration Area Centres ahead of the election was completed at 6:09 p.m. on Friday.
According to the electoral commission, the RAC activation exercise recorded a 100 per cent completion rate and was successfully concluded ahead of election day.
The commission said the deployment of personnel and materials, as well as the opening of polling units, proceeded without major disruptions.
It described the process as peaceful, orderly and timely across the state.
The Osun governorship election features several candidates, including the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking another term, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji and ADC candidate Najeem Salaam.
Other candidates are also contesting the election as voters across the state decide who will govern Osun for the next term.
