- Nnamani says no APC candidate in Enugu will struggle to win in 2027.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Nkanu West Constituency in the 2027 Enugu State House of Assembly election, Ifeanyi Nnamani, has expressed confidence that the party will secure victory across the state in the 2027 elections.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Nnamani attributed his optimism to the performance of Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, saying the administration’s achievements had improved the APC’s standing among residents.

Speaking during a media interaction in Enugu, Nnamani said no APC candidate would struggle to win the 2027 election because of the governor’s performance.
“There is no single candidate under the APC that will struggle to win the 2027 elections, because Governor Mbah has delivered 101 per cent across board. He has positioned APC, projected it and marketed it to the people,” he said.
Nnamani, who is seeking to represent Nkanu West in the state House of Assembly, said his legislative agenda would focus on social intervention, healthcare support, agriculture and education.
He said his decision to contest was informed by his understanding of the challenges facing ordinary residents, citing his experience in business, labour and community-based charity activities.
“I know what people are suffering and what people are passing through. I really know the real concerns of my people, of common people, and I believe if I can have the chance to represent them, I can push those concerns to a conclusion,” he said.
The APC candidate acknowledged that the primary responsibility of lawmakers was legislation but said effective representation also involved lobbying, negotiation and collaboration with the executive to attract development to constituencies.
He said his four-point agenda would be implemented through legislation, motions, oversight functions and partnerships with government agencies and other stakeholders.
Nnamani also pledged to support some of his proposed constituency projects with personal resources, noting that his philanthropic activities predated his political ambition.
“I’ve been doing free medical outreach for over a decade now. I’ve been involved in many charity cases. This is something we do out of passion, out of drive, and as a way of giving back to the society,” he said.
On healthcare, Nnamani commended Mbah’s reforms and investments in the sector, saying his proposed constituency interventions would complement the state government’s efforts and extend healthcare support to residents at the grassroots.
He also identified landlord-tenant relations as an area of concern, promising to sponsor legislation or a motion aimed at balancing the interests of landlords and tenants if elected.
Nnamani said working with Governor Mbah would not prevent him from performing his constitutional oversight duties as a legislator.
“Partnership does not negate the fact that you still have to stand on what is right. There is a part of oversight functions, and it requires making sure what is passed in the budget is being implemented to the letter,” he said.
Despite Nkanu West’s historical association with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nnamani expressed confidence in his chances, arguing that voters were increasingly considering candidates and their performance rather than party affiliation alone.

He described Governor Mbah as the “vehicle” through which the APC hopes to take Enugu to a new political destination, insisting that the administration’s achievements had changed the political calculations in the state.
Nnamani urged residents of Nkanu West to remain focused and support the governor, while promising to establish an accessible constituency office where residents could present their concerns.
He also called on voters to support APC candidates across the board in the 2027 elections, assuring them that they would not be disappointed.
Nnamani further expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu would improve the APC’s fortunes in Enugu State, saying Mbah’s performance had helped increase the party’s acceptance among residents.
