PHOTOS: Children Play, Dance, Win Prizes At Eredo LCDA’s Annual Christmas Funfair

Eko Hot Blog reports that Mrs Ismail Christiana Oyinloluwa, the wife of the Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, on Tuesday December 19, 2023, spearheaded the much-anticipated 2023 Children Christmas Funfair at the LCDA secretariat.
Children from Eredo LCDA and neighbouring areas gathered for a day of festivities.
Hon. Akinloye joined the festivities with exuberant dancing, expressing gratitude for God’s goodness, surrounded by friends and family.
Mrs Ismail, in her welcoming speech, conveyed delight at hosting the Children Christmas and New Year Party, emphasizing the administration’s dedication to the welfare of children.
“I am indeed delighted to welcome you to this special occasion of year 2023 Children Christmas and New Year Party celebration organized by Eredo Local Council Development Area. Let me first and foremost express gratitude to Almighty God for His grace and unending mercies over us to be part of today’s programme,” she said.
“The present administration of Eredo LCDA is strongly committed to the wellbeing and care of children under its jurisdiction, Hence. we deem it most expedient to celebrate with you at every yuletide. This year’s celebration is going to be fun-filled as we have packaged variety of activities that will make you all happy.”
She also expressed joy at the attention parents are giving to children to bring them up in a godly manner despite the harshness of the economy,
“I am particularly glad to note the expression of joy on faces of the children here today which signifies the good care and attention received from the parents,” the Eredo LCDA chairman’s wife stated.
“On this happy note, I want to appreciate all parents for their commitment to the upbringing of the children despite the harsh economy. It is my prayer that the Almighty God will continue to strengthen you and provide all your needs in Jesus name.”
Addressing the children directly, she encouraged them to prioritize their studies, become exemplary ambassadors in their various spheres, and steer clear of societal vices.
“To our children, I urge you all to take your studies more seriously and be good ambassadors in your homes, schools, communities and the state at large to reciprocate the huge investment of your parents,” Mrs Ismail said.
“Let me use this medium to encourage our children to shun hooliganism and other societal ills that could kill your future dreams.”
She also underscored the LCDA’s commitment to widows, the elderly, and empowering the less privileged, highlighting ongoing programmes for their support.
“As usual, we do not compromise the welfare of our widows, the elderly and empowerment of the less-privileged. Today, we shall attend to them under our widow mite and empowerment programmes.”
She expressed admiration for her husband and all Eredo LCDA staff for their unwavering support towards the programme, and finally wished all a blissful festive season.
“At this juncture, I will like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my love, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, the Executive Chairman, the Executive Committee, Legislative Arm and Management Staff of Eredo LCDA for their unwavering commitment to the success of this programme.
“Finally, I implore all our children to feel free. relax and enjoy themselves. Once again, I welcome you to the year 2023 Children Christmas and New Year Party celebration. I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance,” she added.
The funfair featured diverse activities, including dance competitions, cultural performances, choreography, quiz contests, and special gifts distributed to widows, along with empowerment initiatives like grinding machines and gas cylinders for around two hundred individuals.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving the community in high spirits, appreciative of the efforts of Hon. Akinloye and Mrs Ismail in spreading joy and empowerment during the festive season.
