Eko Hot Blog reports that speaking on Monday at the China-Nigeria Youth Exchange Seminar on China-Africa Community with a Shared Future in Abuja, Minister Zhou Hongyou of the Chinese Embassy emphasized that young energy is absolutely essential to sustaining long-term diplomatic and economic ties.

The high-level seminar was organized by the Chinese embassy in direct collaboration with Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Youth Development to create a platform for developmental dialogue.
Quoting Chinese President Xi Jinping, Envoy Hongyou stressed that the global future is closely linked, making it imperative for young citizens to build a global vision through cross-cultural education and collective action.
He noted that as the world confronts rising geopolitical instabilities and global crises, a unified approach to modernization is more crucial than ever. Hongyou declared that the more turbulent global affairs become, the more China remains deeply committed to walking side by side with Nigeria and Africa.

He further challenged the seminar participants to become active storytellers of China-Nigeria win-win cooperation, sharing objective narratives regarding the expanding ties across trade, technology, education, culture, and sports.
Reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to the partnership, the Director of Education and Youth Development at the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Despan Kwardem, stated that the country stands to gain immensely from China’s advancements, particularly in innovation and technology.
Kwardem also noted that the growing relationship opens up valuable internship and employment paths for Nigerian youths within Chinese firms operating in the country.
To further consolidate these friendships beyond the seminar room, organizers announced an array of cultural initiatives, including a China-Nigeria Fashion Show, Food Festival, Film Festival, and an interactive virtual reality exhibition spotlighting historical Chinese Tang Dynasty culture.
