Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will lead and manage all communication strategies across platforms, shaping the brand’s public image and driving audience engagement. This role is critical in positioning the company as a leading voice in African storytelling and journalism.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a robust communications strategy aligned with the company’s mission.

Create high-impact content for press releases, newsletters, websites, and social media.

Build and maintain strong media relationships; pitch stories and handle press inquiries.

Ensure brand consistency across all communications.

Manage social media strategies to grow engagement and reach.

Coordinate communications for special events, product launches, and campaigns.

Support the sales team with digital and social media-driven customer engagement.

Analyze communication performance data and refine strategies based on insights.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Sciences, or related fields.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications or PR, preferably in media or publishing.

Strong writing and editorial skills; media relations experience is essential.

Working knowledge of social media management and newsletter tools like Buffer, Later, Canva, Mailchimp.

Familiarity with productivity tools like Notion and Microsoft Office Suite.

Graphics or video editing skills are an added advantage.

Must be passionate about African journalism and understand the regional media landscape.
