The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled November 20 for judgment in the terrorism case against the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Justice James Omotosho fixed the date on Friday after observing that Kanu had failed to open his defence within the six days granted by the court.

The judge held that the IPOB leader, having declined to use the allotted time, could not later claim to have been denied a fair hearing.

During the sitting, Kanu’s legal team submitted a fresh motion urging the court to dismiss the case, arguing that the Terrorism Prevention and Prohibition Act, under which he was being prosecuted, had been repealed. He maintained that the charges lacked legal basis and sought his immediate release.
After hearing the arguments, the court adjourned proceedings and set November 20 for its final judgment in the matter.
