Tinubu Administration Endorses 2024 Ogbomoso Cradle Carnival In Oyo
The administration of President Bola Tinubu has officially endorsed the upcoming Ogbomoso Cradle Carnival 2024, scheduled for December in Oyo State, according to a statement by the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy.
The ministry’s confirmation, conveyed through a letter dated October 9, praised Oba Ghandi Olaoye, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, for initiating the event to boost local social and economic growth through cultural innovation.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that signed by Akudo-Nwosu, Director of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Department, the letter emphasized the carnival’s role in promoting employment, social engagement, and economic empowerment.
“This initiative by the Soun of Ogbomoso aligns with our national vision of driving economic empowerment through culture,” the statement read. “The Ogbomoso Cradle Carnival promises a vibrant celebration of the town’s rich heritage and provides significant opportunities for local businesses and artisans.”
Planning committee chairman, Williams Adeleye, expressed gratitude for the federal endorsement and highlighted the carnival’s planned events, including cultural performances, craft exhibitions, and other activities designed to showcase Ogbomoso’s unique heritage.
Adeleye noted that the Oyo State Government has added the carnival to its official tourism calendar, further bolstering its significance.
The inaugural event aims to position Ogbomoso as a key cultural destination in Nigeria, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to fostering growth in the arts and creative economy through cultural tourism.
