EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking on Tuesday during the commissioning of access roads in Sector Centre B, Dakibiyu District, Wike said the progress being recorded in the FCT reflects Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructural renewal and national development.
The former Rivers State governor assured Nigerians that the nation’s capital will witness even greater transformation before President Tinubu’s third anniversary in office, urging citizens to remain patient and hopeful about the administration’s long-term vision.
“By next year, during Mr. President’s third anniversary, Nigerians will see what they have never seen before,” Wike said. “I’m pleading with all Nigerians to continue to be patient; we will get to the promised land. Through Mr. President, it will be a different narrative—you can already see it happening.”
He also challenged critics to assess the government’s performance objectively, noting that every sector should be judged by visible results.
“As far as the FCT is concerned, can anyone, no matter how much they dislike Mr. President or how they feel about the election outcome, say that nothing is happening here? Certainly not,” he said. “From what you see in Abuja, you can also imagine the progress being made in other parts of the country. This is what the dividends of democracy look like.”
Wike reiterated that his focus as FCT Minister is to ensure that Abuja becomes a model city that reflects the administration’s vision for urban renewal, infrastructure, and improved quality of life for residents.
