- Says organisers made him change his popular stage name
- Claims fans couldn’t find or vote for him
- First housemate evicted after two weeks in the house
Danboskid, one of the early contestants on Big Brother Naija Season 10, has revealed why his stay in the reality show was cut short.
According to Eko Hot Blog, the 25-year-old entrepreneur from Ekiti blamed his early eviction on a name change imposed by the organisers. He explained that before joining the show, he was well-known online by his popular stage name, which matched all his social media accounts. However, producers insisted he use a different name during the competition.

Speaking in an interview on Arise TV’s 360 Chats, Danboskid said the switch made it hard for fans to recognise and support him. “I had matched my name with my social media before going in, but I changed it to the one the management chose. I was out of reach with my handler, and it made it hard for my fans watching me to identify me,” he said.
The former housemate, whose real name is Daniel Olatunji, entered the BBNaija house with high hopes and an existing fanbase. But the two-week name change, he claimed, disconnected him from his followers, which proved costly when it came time for public voting.

Danboskid’s eviction made him the first contestant to leave the BBNaija 10 house. While some viewers speculated it was due to a lack of engaging moments, he insisted the name issue played a major role. He stressed that in a show where popularity and votes determine survival, brand recognition is vital.
Despite the setback, Danboskid expressed gratitude for the platform and hinted at future projects. He encouraged aspiring housemates to protect their brand identity and ensure they remain easily reachable to fans during the competition.
His story serves as a reminder that in reality TV, success often depends on more than just personality it also hinges on strategy, fan connection, and brand consistency.
