Nigerian music heavyweights Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy have secured multiple nominations for the 18th edition of The Headies Awards.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the organisers unveiled the nomination list ahead of the ceremony, which is scheduled to hold in Toronto, Canada, on October 25, 2026.

Davido earned several nominations, with his collaboration with Omah Lay, “With You,” featuring in categories including Song of the Year, Afrobeats Single of the Year, Best Recording of the Year, Best Headies Collaboration and Viewers’ Choice. His album, 5ive, is also nominated for Afrobeats Album of the Year.
Wizkid also received multiple nominations, including Song of the Year and Afrobeats Single of the Year for his collaborations with Asake, “MMS” and “Jogodo,” respectively. His album, Morayo, is among the contenders for Afrobeats Album of the Year, while he is also nominated for Digital Artiste of the Year and Best Male Artiste.
Burna Boy is competing for Afrobeats Single of the Year with “Bundle by Bundle” and Afrobeats Album of the Year with No Sign of Weakness. He also received a nomination for Best Male Artiste and is represented in the Music Video of the Year category for “Bundle by Bundle.”
The nominations also recognise a strong crop of emerging Nigerian artistes, with Fido, Fola, Llona, Mavo and Shoday competing in the Next Rated category.
Other artistes including Ayra Starr, Tems, Omah Lay, Rema and Adekunle Gold also feature prominently across several categories.
The 2026 edition is expected to bring together leading artistes and other stakeholders in the African music industry as The Headies continues to expand its presence beyond Nigeria.
