During a press briefing, the Football Committee addressed team coaches, stressing that all matches will be guided by strict rules and regulations to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free tournament.
Coaches were warned against encouraging unsportsmanlike behavior or actions that could trigger violence on the field.
The EDFA Chairman, Mr. Adekoya, urged players to prioritize sportsmanship over rivalry.
He said “in every competition, there is always just one winner, so players should play their part and let God decide the winner instead of causing unnecessary injuries.”
He further read out the rules guiding both footballers and goalkeepers to ensure all teams are clear on expectations.
The LOC Chairman, Hon. Sikiru Oladega, emphasized that the football competition is a product of the APC’s commitment to youth development.

He encouraged players and community members to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as a sign of civic responsibility.
According to him, “to whom much is given, much is expected,” adding that football development goes hand in hand with civic participation.
He assured residents that maximum security will be deployed at all match venues to prevent any form of violence.
Hon. Oladega further explained that the competition forms a key pillar of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the football initiative is designed to curb youth involvement in violence, empower them, and uncover the hidden talents within them, giving young people positive platforms to express their abilities.
