The Lagos State Education District II has officially presented letters of appointment to 46 newly selected principals after a rigorous and transparent screening process, signaling a renewed commitment to academic excellence and effective school leadership.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the ceremony, held at the District’s Conference Hall, brought together top education stakeholders, family members, and colleagues who gathered to celebrate the achievement of the new appointees.
Speaking at the event, the Supervising Tutor General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, praised the successful candidates for their resilience and dedication.
He described the new roles as a stepping stone to greater accomplishments.
“Congratulations on this feat you have achieved; it is not how long, but how well.
The footprints of someone who spent a short period in service could be better than those of someone who spent a longer time,” Osinaike said.
He further urged the principals to lead with integrity and prioritize staff and students’ welfare.
“I implore you to add good character to your duties because your attitude will determine your altitude.
Take good care of the welfare of your staff and students, and do not neglect your health.
The investments of Mr. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu must not be allowed to become futile. Create an environment conducive to learning and teaching,” he added.

Representing Governor Sanwo-Olu and TESCOM Chairman Mrs. Mopelola Peregrino, Osinaike personally presented the appointment letters to the new principals, charging them to uphold professionalism and discipline.
Also speaking, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mrs. Mojisola Adeyemi-Fashola, lauded the appointees for their success in the highly competitive process. “I want to congratulate all of you for achieving this feat.
We all went through rigorous tests and interviews, and to God be the glory, 46 out of 48 candidates came out successful,” she said.
She further explained that 24 of the principals will be immediately deployed to schools with existing vacancies, while others will assume duties as positions open up in early 2026.
In their remarks, the newly appointed principals expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government and pledged to deliver on their duties with innovation, dedication, and strong school management practices.
This development forms part of Lagos State’s broader plan to strengthen educational leadership and raise the standard of public education across the state.
