Edo State Government has approved full educational scholarships for the children of the late Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah, who lost his life while in active military service.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Governor Monday Okpebholo granted the approval, which will fund the education of the late officer’s children from their current academic levels through to university.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Patrick Akhere, the initiative reflects the administration’s resolve to honour military personnel who die in the line of duty while also providing lasting support for their families.

The beneficiaries include 18-year-old Farida Hussain-Braimah, a first-year Software Engineering student at Nile University, Abuja; 16-year-old Amir Hussain-Braimah, an SS3 student at Olumawu Senior School, Abuja; and 12-year-old Yasmeen Hussain-Braimah, a JSS2 student at Olumawu Junior Secondary School, Abuja.
Governor Okpebholo described the scholarship programme as a moral responsibility and a demonstration of compassionate leadership, stressing that the state must stand by families of fallen heroes.
The statement further noted that the governor has pledged continued support for the children throughout their academic journey to ensure they achieve stable and successful futures.

He also reiterated earlier remarks describing the late Brigadier-General as a disciplined and courageous officer who served the nation with distinction.
Brigadier-General Braimah was killed during a terrorist attack on military positions in Benisheikh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State, amid ongoing counter-insurgency operations.
Reports indicate that armed assailants stormed the 29 Task Force Brigade under Operation Hadin Kai, engaging troops for hours and destroying several military vehicles during the assault.
