The food packs, containing staples such as rice and garri, were branded with the names of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and Senator Abiru, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.
“This programme reflects our continued commitment to the welfare of the people of Lagos East… especially during seasons of spiritual reflection and celebration like Eid-el-Kabir,” Senator Abiru said during the distribution at his Ikorodu constituency office.
The initiative, a key component of his widely acclaimed #DoingGood campaign, targeted vulnerable groups including persons with disabilities, the elderly, unemployed youths, and widows.
Beneficiaries were shortlisted through a transparent online nomination process, which prioritized fairness and community inclusion.
Senator Abiru stressed the importance of unity and collaboration among all tiers of government to tackle the economic difficulties facing Nigerians.
“In these tough times, it is critical that we work together to ease the burden on our people. No effort is too small when it comes to uplifting lives,” he noted.
The gesture was met with widespread appreciation from political and community leaders. Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and APC Apex Leader in Ikorodu Division, commended the senator for his proactive approach to governance.
