Mohammed El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has expressed his support for the ongoing probe into his father’s administration, provided it is conducted fairly and objectively.
Speaking in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service on Saturday, Mohammed emphasized the importance of accountability but cautioned against using the investigation as a political weapon.

According to him, such inquiries should focus on uncovering facts rather than being used for personal vendettas.
“If done for selfish reasons, such inquiries only harm progress,” he stated.
Mohammed, who represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, also addressed the reported rift between his father and his successor, Governor Uba Sani. He dismissed media reports of a deep-seated conflict, calling them exaggerated.

While acknowledging that he was unhappy with the ongoing tensions between the two leaders, he made it clear that resolving their differences was not his responsibility.
Instead, he remained focused on his duty to serve his constituents and ensure effective governance.

He also suggested that certain unnamed individuals were exploiting the misunderstanding between his father and Governor Sani for their own benefit.
Both Mohammed and his father have been openly critical of President Bola Tinubu’s administration despite being members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
