Ẹkọ Hot Blog reports that a fuel tanker has overturned in Aláró City, Epe Local Government, resulting in a hazardous fuel spill.
The incident occurred at the Aláró city expressway in the early hours of Thursday.

Eyewitnesses reported that the tanker, laden with fuel, veered off the road and overturned, causing a significant spillage of its contents onto the surrounding area.
The spillage posed a serious threat to the safety of residents and the environment, raising concerns about potential fire hazards and health risks.
In response to the incident, the local government chairman, Princess Surah Animashaun, assured residents that emergency measures were being implemented to mitigate any potential harm.
The chairman stated that the fire service had been mobilized to the scene to prevent the ignition of the spilled fuel and to contain any potential fires.
Additionally, other security agencies have been deployed to ensure public safety and prevent any casualties.

ANOTHER TANKER ACCIDENT AMONG MANY IN RECENT WEEKS
The tanker accident on Thursday is only the latest in a string of tanker/trailer accidents that have plagued Epe Division in recent weeks.
The week of May 5-11, 2024, there were four separate accidents in the division.
The first accident happened on Tuesday, May 7, as a CNG gas tanker fell near Epe’s T-junction.
However, the tanker fall did not result in an explosion.
Same day, there was a gas explosion in Ibeju Lekki that resulted in the death of two residents.
Also, there was a tanker explosion along Temu road, Epe, on Thursday, May 9.
