The Epe Local Government, in collaboration with Rotary International, has successfully concluded the Rotary Health Mission and Menstrual Care Project III, providing free healthcare services to hundreds of residents at the Primary Health Care Centre (Papa PHC), Papa, Epe.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the medical outreach, facilitated under the leadership of the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, attracted a large turnout of beneficiaries who received comprehensive healthcare services, including general medical consultations, laboratory investigations, surgical procedures, eye care services, free medications and menstrual hygiene support through the distribution of sanitary pads to women and girls.
Speaking on the success of the programme, Hon. Princess Animashaun reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to improving access to quality healthcare through strategic partnerships that directly benefit residents.
“The health and well-being of our people remain a top priority for this administration. We will continue to collaborate with credible organisations like Rotary International to expand access to quality healthcare and improve the lives of our residents,” she said.
The council chairman also commended Rotary International and its partner clubs for their humanitarian service and continued commitment to supporting community development through impactful health interventions.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Epe Local Government and Rotary International for bringing quality healthcare services closer to the people. They described the outreach as timely and life-changing, noting that the free medical services had eased the financial burden of accessing healthcare.
“We are grateful to Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun and Rotary International for remembering our community. This programme has given many of us access to treatment we could not have afforded,” one of the beneficiaries said.
The outreach also promoted menstrual hygiene awareness through the distribution of sanitary pads, reinforcing efforts to improve the health and dignity of women and adolescent girls within the community.
The successful conclusion of the health mission highlights the growing partnership between Epe Local Government and Rotary International in delivering sustainable healthcare interventions and improving the quality of life of residents across the council area.
