In a solemn display of respect and solidarity, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, paid a heartfelt condolence visit on Thursday, June 6, 2025, to the family of the late Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Shefiu Adewale Olatunji Bamgbopa, Eshilokun I.
Ekohotblog reports that the visit took place at the royal residence on Ajilogba Street, where Hon. Animashaun was warmly received by Olori Aribike Adewale, widow of the departed monarch, alongside other members of the Bamgbopa royal family and well-wishers.

Describing the late Oba as a pillar of unity and culture in Epe, the council boss extolled his life and reign, which she said were marked by wisdom, peace, and dedication to the upliftment of Epe’s traditions and values.
“The late Oba Adewale was more than a traditional ruler; he was a symbol of continuity, peace, and wisdom in our land,” she said. “His passing leaves a vacuum that will be difficult to fill. We will continue to uphold his legacy and support the royal family in this period of transition.”
Hon. Animashaun emphasized the importance of maintaining the bond between traditional institutions and local governance, acknowledging the deep respect the people of Epe hold for their royal heritage.
