Oluyemi recalled that EPWA was founded in 2015 and formally registered in 2016 by visionary women committed to improving the lives of women, girls, and vulnerable groups.

She noted that since its formation, the association has consistently implemented programmes aimed at social development and humanitarian support.
She highlighted several of EPWA’s interventions over the years, including medical outreaches, donation of medical equipment to health facilities, payment of medical bills for those in need, scholarship schemes, mentorship initiatives, and advocacy programmes.
She also referenced the association’s relief efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic as part of its response to community challenges.

According to her, EPWA has donated textbooks to 11 libraries across Epe Division and established a ₦10 million endowment fund at Lagos State University to support outstanding female students from the area.
She added that these initiatives reflect the group’s long-term commitment to education and empowerment.
Oluyemi explained that the awards ceremony was designed to recognise individuals whose contributions to society often go unnoticed, despite their significant impact on communities.
She reaffirmed that EPWA remains committed to expanding its reach, particularly in supporting women, youths, widows, students, and other vulnerable groups, through education, healthcare, and economic empowerment initiatives.
