The Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has dismissed allegations linking him to the controversy surrounding the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Eredo LCDA, describing the claims as false, misleading, and contrary to the facts.

Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement released on behalf of the Council Chairman, the administration reaffirmed its profound respect for former Lagos State Governor, His Excellency Akinwunmi Ambode, describing him as a distinguished son of Epe Division, a respected statesman, and one of the most accomplished political leaders to have emerged from the area.
The statement noted that Ambode’s contributions to the development of Lagos State and Epe Division remain indelible, stressing that neither the APC leadership in Eredo LCDA nor Hon. Akinloye has ever acted in a manner that undermines his political legacy or standing within the party.
Addressing allegations made by Mr. Blessing Bola Jacob, the statement clarified that the emergence of the APC Local Government Executive was the outcome of extensive consultations among party leaders ahead of the APC LGA Congress held on February 7, 2026.
According to the statement, party leaders met with the Divisional Leader and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, at his Epe residence, where a consensus list of executive members was jointly agreed upon.
The administration explained that the list was endorsed and signed by all leaders present, including Alhaji Seriki Bamu, demonstrating that the process reflected a collective decision rather than the influence or action of any single individual.
“It is therefore false, misleading and entirely unfounded to allege that the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA ‘snatched’ any party position from His Excellency, Akinwunmi Ambode. Such allegations are capable of creating unnecessary tension within our great party and do not reflect the true facts surrounding the process,” the statement read.
The Council further disclosed that the leadership of the APC in Lagos State has already constituted a committee to investigate the issues surrounding the Eredo LCDA party leadership, expressing confidence in the committee’s ability to conduct a fair, transparent, and impartial review in line with the party’s constitution.
While awaiting the outcome of the committee’s findings, the Chairman appealed to party members, stakeholders, and supporters to remain calm and avoid comments or actions capable of undermining the ongoing process.
“We are confident that the party’s decision, reached through its constitutional mechanisms, will be accepted and respected by all, as the decision of the party remains final and binding,” the statement added.
Hon. Akinloye reaffirmed his commitment to preserving unity, peace, and stability within the APC in Eredo LCDA, urging members of the public to disregard what he described as misleading narratives and allow the party’s constituted authorities to conclude their assignment without interference.
