Her statement quickly attracted the attention of Istanbul’s Morality Bureau, which launched an investigation. Authorities detained Vandan at a hospital in Atasehir, where she was preparing for a cosmetic surgery procedure. Video footage showed her being escorted by two female officers, with her wrists bound behind her, as she was taken to a police van.

Reports claim that during her arrest, Vandan shared a provocative image of herself allegedly taken by a police officer. She captioned it: “I had the photo taken by one of the officers; he didn’t object much.”

Vandan’s husband, Pedram Behdar Vandan, 25, was also briefly detained but later released. The model now faces charges of obscenity, resisting an officer, and slander. During her hearing, the Istanbul court ruled that her posts were “damaging to moral values” and “provocative to society.”

Defending herself, Vandan argued that her actions were personal and did not harm anyone, stating, “I do not deserve to be judged.”
