FAAN Announces Power Outage At Lagos Airport
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a planned power shutdown at the International Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The temporary outage will occur on Saturday, November 18, from 1:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.

EKO HOT BLOG reports thn a statement signed by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, the agency explained that the shutdown is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance work. The process is designed to minimize disruptions to flight operations and passenger services.
To ensure smooth operations during the maintenance period, Royal Air Maroc, which typically operates during the scheduled outage, will relocate its check-in and arrival processes to the International Terminal 1.
Other airlines, security agencies, and concessionaires have also been informed to adjust their operations accordingly.
The statement further assured passengers of uninterrupted movement and services despite the temporary power shutdown.
“FAAN regrets any inconvenience caused to our stakeholders and passengers.
“The safety and security of all airport users will always be paramount in our considerations,” the statement read.
The airport authority reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency for all users of the facility.
“Passengers are advised to follow updates and cooperate with airport staff during the maintenance period.
