The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man accused of posing as a medical doctor and administering drugs and injections to unsuspecting residents in Kontagora.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the suspect, Aminu Yusuf of Unguwan-Tukura, was arrested on August 24 following what the police described as credible information.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said Yusuf had allegedly been presenting himself as a medical doctor despite having no medical training or relevant documents.
According to the police, preliminary investigations showed that the suspect had administered drugs to several people and allegedly collected N30,000 from each person.
The suspect is currently being investigated and is expected to be charged to court.
Five Arrested Over Minna Robbery Operations
In a separate operation, the police arrested five suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate allegedly operating in parts of Minna.
The arrests followed a robbery attack at Sauka-Kahuta in the early hours of August 11, during which armed men allegedly stole laptops, phones, motorcycles and other valuables from residents.
Police detectives attached to the Tudun-Wada Division arrested the alleged gang leader, 25-year-old Isiya Auwal, on August 17.
The police said Auwal subsequently led investigators to three other suspects identified as Muhammad Tanko, 27; Francis Yusuf, aka Sisko, 35; and Amir Musa, 28. They were arrested at Tafa, Dikko Junction and Keffi in Nasarawa State.
According to the command, the suspects allegedly confessed to robbery operations around Mandela, Sauka-Kahuta, Barkin-Sale, Farm Centre and Highpoint areas of Minna.
The police said the suspects identified 50-year-old Ismaila Abdullahi as the alleged custodian of their firearm.
Abdullahi was arrested on August 19, leading to the recovery of a Beretta pistol and two rounds of live ammunition.
Police further alleged that the gang sold stolen items to a receiver identified as Ahmed, aka Genuine, of Maitumbi.
The five suspects remain in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna as investigations continue, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the alleged receiver.
