A female National Youth Service Corps member serving in Anambra State has reportedly been assaulted by operatives suspected to be officers of the Udo Ga Achi security outfit, popularly known as the Agunechemba vigilante group.
Eko Hot Blog reports that a Non-Governmental Organisation, The Haven Foundation, has called on the state governor, Charles Soludo, to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.

In a viral video shared on Tuesday, the operatives, armed with guns, stormed the corps members’ lodge and accused them of being internet fraudsters, even after they presented their NYSC identification cards and uniforms.

The operatives were seen beating a female corps member despite her pleas for help. Her clothes were torn in the process, leaving her exposed, as the assault continued.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians condemning the actions of the vigilante group and demanding justice.
Reacting to the attack, The Haven Foundation condemned the assault and urged the state government to take action.
The foundation wrote, “We strongly condemned the brutal assault and violation of the rights of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members by operatives of the Operation Udo Ga Achi or ‘Agunechemba vigilante group’ in Anambra State.
“On July 23, 2025, the state actors stormed the corps lodge, accusing the members of being ‘Yahoo people’, despite their prompt production of their NYSC identification cards and uniforms.
“The assault was particularly egregious in the case of Jennifer Edema Elobor, who was beaten, stripped nak3d and left exposed and covered in blood.
“The victims were subjected to unsavoury, horrible, s3xually degrading words and actions, including threats of s3xual violation.”
The foundation added that the victim’s parents and legal representatives have already reported the case in pursuit of justice.
It further stated, “We demand the immediate arrest and prosecution of the individuals involved in the heinous act and comprehensive reparation and compensation for the physical harm and psychological trauma inflicted upon them.
“We urge the Anambra State Government to take immediate and decisive action to address the gross human rights abuse, the Federal Government to invoke its authority and ensure justice is served and civil societies, influencers and all parents to stand in solidarity with the victims and demand justice.”

Operation Udo Ga Achi was launched by the Anambra State Government earlier this year to support security agencies in combating kidnapping, robbery, and cultism.
