Cardinale’s six-decade career spanned the golden age of Italian cinema. She worked with master directors such as Federico Fellini and Luchino Visconti, and later starred in Hollywood hits alongside actors like Henry Fonda and Charles Bronson.

Despite being dubbed in her early career due to her accent, she quickly rose to international fame. Her roles showcased an incredible range, and critics hailed her as the “embodiment of postwar European glamour.”
Beyond her professional achievements, Cardinale was also a Unesco Goodwill Ambassador in recognition of her advocacy for women’s rights. She received a lifetime achievement award at the Berlin Film Festival in 2002.
Her death marks the end of an era for classic cinema, but her words, “I’ve lived more than 150 lives,” continue to inspire.
