EKO HOT BLOG reports that Fubara, dressed in a white caftan and black cap, arrived at Aso Rock around 6:20 p.m. on Friday for a closed-door meeting with the President. It was his first official engagement with Tinubu since the state of emergency in Rivers was lifted on September 18, 2025.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the governor described the interaction as a “father-and-son discussion.” He noted that his mission was to express gratitude to Tinubu and seek guidance on steering Rivers State away from future political instability.
“You’re aware that the suspension was lifted midnight of the 17th, and I came in on the 19th. Ideally, it’s proper for me to see Mr. President to tell him that I’m back, and that I have resumed my responsibilities as governor of Rivers State. It’s not much. It’s a father-and-son discussion — thanking him and seeking his guidance so we don’t find ourselves in any situation that will bring crisis again,” Fubara said.
When asked about the President’s response, the governor stated: “He advised me on what to do and how to move in the right direction.”

Fubara also assured that peace has returned to Rivers State and confirmed reconciliation with his predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
“As far as I’m concerned, we have made peace. Fubara and his principal are working together,” he added.
