EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ganduje’s arrival comes amid rising political activities in the state as the party prepares to officially receive the Kano governor following his planned defection. The development has drawn attention from party stakeholders within and outside the state.
The former Kano State governor recently returned to Nigeria from London, where he attended the graduation ceremony of his daughter, Fatima Ganduje, at King’s College London. Fatima, who is married to Idris Ajimobi, son of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, graduated on Thursday with a Master’s degree from the institution.
Ganduje arrived in Abuja aboard a British Airways flight at about 5.30 am on Monday and later proceeded to Kano to begin a series of high level political engagements linked to the planned event.
In a statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Comrade Muhammad Garba, Ganduje confirmed that he would participate in the APC’s ongoing electronic registration of members, a programme he initiated during his tenure as national chairman of the party.
The statement added that the former chairman would also play a prominent role in activities surrounding the planned reception of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the APC, describing the development as a major step in strengthening the party’s presence in Kano State.
The declaration of Governor Yusuf’s APC membership is expected to attract party leaders, stakeholders and supporters from across Kano State and other parts of the country.

Party sources said the event forms part of wider efforts by the APC to consolidate its structure in Kano and reinforce recent political realignments ahead of future electoral contests.
