EKO HOT BLOG reports that he obtained the nomination form on Saturday amid his long standing affiliation with the Kwankwasiyya political movement.
A viral video circulating online showed Abdulaziz in a meeting with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso shortly after obtaining the form.
According to reports, he briefed Kwankwaso on his political ambition and readiness for the contest ahead of the elections.
Despite his father’s influential position within the APC over the years, Abdulaziz has remained closely aligned with the Kwankwasiyya movement.
The development adds a fresh dimension to the long standing political rivalry between Ganduje and Kwankwaso, who were once political allies before their relationship deteriorated.
Abdulaziz has remained politically distant from his father’s camp for years and has consistently identified with the Kwankwasiyya political structure.
His political alignment drew wider public attention following his involvement in a controversial dispute with his mother, Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje.
He had previously petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC over an alleged failed agreement involving his mother.

Abdulaziz is now seeking the same House of Representatives seat contested in 2023 by his brother, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, under the APC platform.
Umar lost the election to the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP despite their father serving as Kano State governor at the time.
