Eko Hot Blog reports that the event, which attracted a large gathering of children, parents, chiefs, community leaders, dignitaries, and well-wishers, featured entertaining performances, dancing competitions, games, cultural displays, educational activities, and several fun-filled moments specially organised to celebrate and encourage the children.
Speaking during the celebration, the royal father explained that the Children’s Day initiative has been sustained for the past 13 years as part of the Kingdom’s contribution towards supporting government efforts in nurturing responsible children and future leaders.
According to the monarch, the annual celebration has over the years helped the community discover and nurture the talents and hidden potentials of many children across Araromi and Ibeju.
He noted that beyond academics, many children possess unique gifts and creative abilities that deserve attention, encouragement, and proper support from parents and society.
“This celebration has been on for 13 years, and through it, we have been able to discover many talented children within our communities. It is our own way of contributing to government efforts in raising responsible children and future leaders,” the monarch stated.
Oba Olayemi Lukman Arowolo further urged parents to pay closer attention to the special talents and abilities of their children, stressing that while education remains very important, success in life is not limited to academic achievements alone.
“Not every child is destined to succeed through formal education alone. Education is important, but parents should also help their children build and develop their talents because every child has a unique purpose and gift that can bring greatness in the future,” he added.
The monarch also encouraged children to remain focused, disciplined, respectful, and committed to their dreams while making good use of opportunities provided to them.
The colourful event created memorable moments for children across the communities as many of them participated actively in various activities designed to promote confidence, creativity, unity, and happiness among young people.
Parents and community leaders commended the royal father for sustaining the initiative over the years, describing the programme as impactful, inspiring, and beneficial to the growth and development of children within Araromi and Ibeju communities.
