The former Speaker of the House of Representatives described Hamzat as a capable leader, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the affairs of Lagos State.
“Dr Hamzat, you are a man of honour, and it shows in your approach to consultations. But I say this publicly—you can take my support for granted because I have full confidence in your ability and capacity,” he said.
“My constituency, Surulere, is for you, and Lagos is for you.”

Also speaking, Musiliu Obanikoro, a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council, said the level of support for Hamzat across party structures has been encouraging.
“I can confidently inform the Chief of Staff that the level of endorsement has been overwhelming,” he noted.
The meeting forms part of Hamzat’s wider political engagements as he seeks the APC ticket for the Lagos governorship race in 2027.
Other members of the delegation included prominent party figures and stakeholders who accompanied the deputy governor on the visit.
