EKO HOT BLOG reports that reacting to the development, the Force Headquarters Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu, said he had not been briefed on the operation.
Speaking with *Punch*, Iniedu requested details of the police unit that carried out the arrest, despite being informed that operatives from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) were responsible.
“I have not been briefed on the arrest. Who picked him up? Which section? Which section in FCID? The police force is large. Tell me the section, so, I can find out from them,” he said.
Further attempts to reach the Force spokesman for additional comments were unsuccessful.
Messages sent to his telephone seeking clarification on the arrest, as well as whether a forensic examination had been conducted on the signature of the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, had not been responded to as of the time this report was filed.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Command declined to comment on the matter, stating that the investigation falls under the jurisdiction of the Force Headquarters.
The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said the case was being handled by the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja.
“The case involving Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew is a matter of national interest and is currently under investigation by the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
“As such, it falls outside my jurisdiction. Consequently, anyone seeking updates regarding the alleged arrest of his parents in Ogbomoso or any other developments in the case is kindly advised to contact the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, or the FCID Liaison Public Relations Officer for accurate and official information,” Ayanlade said.

The arrest comes as investigations continue into allegations of forgery and other offences linked to the activities of the Presidential Fiscal and Infrastructure Projects Council.
