“The fire broke out around 3 a.m. and rapidly engulfed shops, mini containers, and restaurants. We thank Almighty God that no lives were lost and no injuries recorded despite the magnitude of the incident,” Danbayo said.
He commended the police and security personnel for maintaining law and order during the emergency. “The professionalism of the DPO Tumfure Division, Pantami Division, and Operation Hattara ensured effective crowd control and prevented the fire from spreading further,” he added.

The official also praised firefighting and emergency teams, including the Federal Fire Service, Gombe State University Fire Service, and the Union of Tank Truck Water Sellers, for their tireless efforts.
“Their prompt intervention, including continuous water supply, was crucial in preventing the fire from reaching nearby fuel stations, which could have caused a catastrophic explosion,” he said.
Community leaders, led by Alhaji Auwal Abdulkadir, Chairman of Mile 3, also contributed significantly to managing the situation and safeguarding the surrounding areas.
