EKO HOT BLOG reports that the special worship night featured several top gospel ministers including Dunsin Oyekan, Nathaniel Bassey, Onos Ariyo, and the Sounds of Salem team. Following their ministration, the church offered an honorarium cheque to Ogebe and his group in appreciation.
In a video now circulating online, Prophet Ogebe explained that he did not consider the engagement a commercial activity, but rather a divine assignment. He revealed that he made a prior decision with his team to reject any form of payment.
“After the ministration, the man of God, who is a father figure, honoured us with a cheque. I took it and later burnt it. I told myself I would never cash it,” Ogebe said.
He described the experience as a “Kairos moment” — a divine encounter for spiritual growth, not financial gain.
“This is not a payment, it’s an oblation unto God,” he said. “I came for impartation, not money. What I seek, only God can give. A needy mindset will take the cheque and call it prosperity, but that money will finish. The mantle is greater than the money.”
Ogebe’s action has sparked widespread discussion online, with many praising his conviction and reverence for spiritual purpose over material benefit.
