EKO HOT BLOG reports that Gumi made the demand in a Facebook post on Sunday, raising concerns over accountability and questioning those responsible for authorising and executing the operation.
The cleric referenced previous incidents, including the Tudun Biri bombing and reported strikes in Nasarawa and Sokoto, describing them as part of a troubling pattern affecting civilians.
According to him, efforts to combat terrorism must not endanger innocent lives, warning that such actions could weaken public confidence in security operations.
He also urged the Senate to initiate a formal inquiry into what he described as repeated “mistakes” involving airstrikes on civilian locations such as villages and markets.
Gumi said: “Who are the pilots behind these bomb releases on innocent locals?
“Tudun biri, Nasarawa attack on herdsmen trailer, Sokoto attack etc are just the few ones recorded. Terror cannot be fought with another terror.
“There should be an immediate Senate hearings on these so-called ‘mistakes’ on bombing villages, markets and civilians targets.

“We need answers not condolences.”
The comments followed reports that an airstrike hit a crowded market in Jilli village on Saturday evening, resulting in multiple civilian casualties.
