Unknown Gunmen Kill 14-Year-Old Herder In Jos

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a 14-year -old herder, Idris Idris, has been shot dead in Dong community of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to the State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Malam Nura Abdullahi, the deceased, was killed on Saturday evening.

He said Abdullahi was attacked while rearing animal but no cow was killed.

He said, “The incident happened around 4pm. The herders were two but one escaped the attack. We have reported the case to the DPO of Bassa LGA Police Headquarters.

“There is no justification in the killing because the deceased was just rearing the cattle. What has he done to deserve the killing? We can’t continue to be tolerating this kind of dastardly act. We are calling on security agencies to act past to arrest the perpetrators of the act.”

It was gathered that killings and reprisal killings have become the order of the day in villages of Bassa LGA, with Fulani and Irigwe often trading blames.
